Upside-Down Pizza
A simple casserole of ground meat, spaghetti sauce and creamy cheese, baked underneath a flaky golden croissant crust. Kid-tested, kid-approved!

Servings: 8 people
- 2 lbs. Ground chuck or turkey
- 1 cup Onion chopped
- 16 oz. Tomato sauce
- 1.25 oz. Packet of spaghetti sauce mix
- 8 oz. sour cream reduced fat
- 8 oz. Mozzarella cheese shredded
- 8 oz. Package of refrigerated crescent rolls
Cook beef and onion in skillet over med-high heat. Drain fat once meat is browned.
Stir in tomato sauce and spaghetti sauce mix, and cook over low heat for 10 minutes, stirring frequently.
Spoon into a lightly greased 13x9 baking dish. Top with sour cream and sprinkle with mozzarella cheese. Unroll crescent rolls on top of cheese layer.
Bake, uncovered, in a 350 degree oven for 20 minutes. Enjoy!
*I personally try not to eat a whole lot of beef if I can help it, so I frequently substitute ground turkey in the place of ground beef in my recipes. It tastes just as good either way, I think!
*To lighten this up as much as can be, you can use reduced fat sour cream (or sub Greek yogurt), 2% skim-milk Mozz, and you can even add spinach to add a vegetable.
